Warm front approaches the Capital Region with some wintry mix changing to rain (Photos)

A warm front will approach the region from the southwest today and bring a wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain changing to rain into this afternoon, before a weak cold front moves through late in the day with some lingering snow showers. It will then turn breezy and cooler on Tuesday, along with a few scattered rain or snow showers as a weak disturbance moves through.

  • A winter weather advisory is in effect for the Capital Region until Noon for a wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain.
