Gaijin Entertainment last night kicked off a special event featuring the End of the Battle of Britain for its War Thunder MMORPG. History buffs will recognize the Battle of Britain as an event that saved the UK from invasion and quite possible saved the rest of Europe as well. Players can take part in this special event until 2am EST tomorrow morning and get some perks for doing so. Players participating in the first victory for all nations will get a 5x experience bonus, and there's a 30% discount for purchasing various Spitfire planes.
Currently in open beta testing, War Thunder is a combat flight simulator MMORPG which has seen over 3 million players take part in the game. While it primarily features planes, combat is not limited to the skies. There are also land and sea vehicles that can be used in a realistic World War II setting. War Thunder features both PvE and PvP content and replicates all major World War II combat battles.
Lavalette, WV, resident Matt Barriteau is a long-time War Thunder beta tester and predicts it to do well upon release. "This game is going to be huge," he said.
Expected to be a launch title for the PlayStation 4, a release date for Windows and Mac has not been announced. Head on over to the official War Thunder website for more info.
