Raging old school death metal maniacs War Master have risen again with both a new album coming, and a live show in a few days at one of Houston's oldest venues for loud music, Fitzgerald's. You know, the place in the Death, Pestilence and Deicide videos from the early 1990s.
As to the new album, the band announced "Test presses and proofs for the LP were approved yesterday. Everything should be ready in about 3 weeks!" as of an hour or so ago, and this means that we will soon see release of this CD on our own shores. Look here for more information as events warrant.
You don't have to wait. This Saturday, War Master and 11 other bands will take the stage at the Fallcore 2011 festival which at The Heights' own Fitzgerald's. They'll be using both Fitzgerald's (upstairs) and Zelda's (downstairs). Here's the complete line-up:
- Power Trip
- Mammoth Grinder
- Venomous Maximus
- Will to Live
- War Master
- The Burden
- Band of Mercy
- Hardside
- Dissent
- Gain
- Cutting Losses
- Human Error
Unlike most festivals, this one will be a broad range of bands at a venue famed for its ability to pack in people. Look for a diversity of sounds and a rapid-fire trip to the stages. And after that, look for the new War Master album, of course.
