The emotionally charged independent film, ‘Cigarette Soup,’ from filmmaker Damian Voerg, is set to make its Long Island Premiere during this year’s Long Island International Film Expo this Saturday (July 12). The action feature, which marks Yoerg’s feature film writing and directorial debuts, will be premiering during the 4 PM block at the Bellmore Movies, which is located at 222 Pettit Avenue.
The following synopsis for ‘Cigarette Soup’ has been released:
In 2006, at the height of the war in Afghanistan, a young aspiring journalist gets the opportunity of a lifetime when he is embedded with a small band of American soldiers. After a surprise attack, they become separated from their unit and find themselves trapped in an insurgent bunker; surrounded on all sides by the enemy. During their time together, the journalist is able to interview these brave soldiers and discovers who they are, where they come from, and reasons for being there.
‘Cigarette Soup’ was produced by Larry Strong. The film stars Joshua Willis, Dina Shihabi, Jonathan Sale, Quincy Dunn-Baker, Tobias Truvillion, Shahn Christian Andersen and Eliijah Moreland. The Long Island International Film Expo was named “One of the Top 25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World” by MovieMaker Magazine. It was also called “One of the Top 10 Must See Summer Film Festivals in the United States” by Audience Awards.
