R-CATS, a cat rescue and Trap/Neuter/Vaccinate/Return program based in Rome, is seeking volunteers to spend quality time with some of their adoptable felines.

The group's leaders ask only for an hour or two each week for volunteers to spend caring for some wonderful cats while they are waiting for their forever homes. Volunteers would visit R-CATS' group foster home in Rome, spend time playing with and petting cats for socialization, making sure that the cats' living spaces are clean, and reporting any concerns regarding the cats (such as sneezing) to an R-CATS representative.

Allison Nickerson, president of the rescue, states, "It is a very rewarding experience where you can make a life-saving difference for some special cats." This opportunity provides volunteers the chance to make sure that cats of all ages are healthy, and well-socialized, paving the way for them to get forever homes.

For more information or to make arrangements to volunteer, contact Allison at 315-337-3890.
