For those of you dying to check out where Lt. Gov. and former San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom and family lived before moving to Marin, here’s your chance. According to Curbed SF, the Gav’s previous home at 1581 Masonic in Ashbury Heights is up for sale – and will be the site of an open house on July 17 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Of course, for those of you looking to buy a little bit of San Francisco legend, the home can be had for a mere $2.75 million. Curbed claims this is only slightly more than Gav paid for it two years ago. If you want to see details, check out Redfin.
What we can tell you, though, is that the home clocks in at just over 3,000 square feet, with four bedrooms and three and a half baths. And if the Gav liked it, who says you won’t? Your wallet might sting a little bit from the monthly mortgage payment, but it’s a small price to pay.
Let’s wish the Gav well up in Marin County. He and wife Jennifer Siebel Newsom are expecting a second child, so it seems they’re looking for larger digs. And given both of them were raised in Marin, it’s kind of a natural choice.
In the meantime, if you attend the open house, let me know! I'd love to hear your opinion.
