In the Fall there are ski swaps where you can find deals on ski gear. Also, most ski shops have leasing programs where you can lease equipment rather than buying for children who are still growing. Lift tickets can be expensive at destination resorts and they are more reasonably priced at smaller, ski areas close to major metropolitan areas. During non-peak times, usually after the Christmas and New Year’s holidays and the first week of February are typically slower times in the snow sport industry. Signing up and becoming a fan via Facebook to some resorts can result in deals that can help get someone into the sports of skiing or snowboarding.
