One of the best things about the animal welfare online network is the support we show each other. We have connected with people all over the country (and for some of us, the world) who share the same passion for helping animals. I decided to take that community concept and turn it into a photo contest that will generate one winner. For this person, I will write a feature article in my Examiner column about his or her favorite animal welfare organization (their own or someone else's). That means if you have an animal welfare fan page, you can choose it for the feature! This will hopefully increase exposure for your organization.
Here are the guidelines:
1. Become a fan of my page and email me your favorite photograph of your pet (living or in memory of). Feel free to write a paragraph about why you love this pet. Only one submission per person, so make sure it's a good one! Also name which organization you would like me to write about if you win. Remember, it can be your personal fan page. It just must be animal-related.
2. I will post all the photographs I receive into an album on my fan page. People will be able to view the photos at all times after "liking" my page and vote for their favorites by "liking" the photos.
3. The photo that receives the most "likes" by February 28, 2011 will win the feature article! If there are multiple people with the same number of "likes", I will use a random online generator to choose the ultimate winner.
4. As soon as a winner is chosen, he or she will be announced on my fan page, along with the organization they have chosen for me to write about.
5. I will contact the winner and do an interview about the organization. The article will be published in early March.
Any questions, let me know. Remember to share your picture with as many people as possible to generate more "likes"!
