Wang pitches Chinese Taipei to the first win in the '13 World Baseball Classic (Photos)

Former Washington Nationals pitcher Chien-Ming Wang is looking to find a job in baseball.

But, he is continuing to pitch, as he pitched six scoreless innings as Chinese Taipei beat Australia, 4-1, early this morning to start the World Baseball Classic.

Wang, who is auditioning for a major league job, allowed four hits and struck out two batters. His defense also made three double plays that allowed him to pitch less than 65 pitches, the first round pitch limit.

His velocity wasn’t the best, according to reports, but he did pitch between 82-83 mph throughout much of the game. That is surely slow than what he used to pitch.

He averaged a 91 mph fastball last season with the Nationals.
