Wanda Jackson Proves The Party Ain’t Over

Wanda Jackson is coming to Atlanta and we should all be thrilled. The First Lady of Rockabilly leaves no doubt that her spark that grabbed the attention of Elvis Presley in 1958, still remains in 2011. She has a new album and a touring schedule that brings her to Atlanta on April 15 for a show at The Loft.

Jackson released The Party Ain’t Over on January 25 on Third Man/Nonesuch Records. Rollicking tracks “Rip it Up,” “Thunder on the Mountain” and Amy Winehouse cover “You Know I’m No Good” are just a few of the songs that show off Jackson’s vocal quality, sense of style and powerful rhythm.

Producing Jackson’s album was legend in the making Jack White. Even though there is a three decade age gap, the partnership makes sense given both their backgrounds. A video of the two performing together in the official “Thunder on the Mountain” video can be seen on this page.

Tickets to see Wanda Jackson at The Loft on April 15 are on sale now for $18. Day of show tickets cost $20 and most likely won’t be available.
