The Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) is looking for local musicians to perform at the second annual Downtown Alive! 2. The WAMI organization is a volunteer endeavor whose purpose is to educate and recognize the achievements and accomplishments of individuals in the Wisconsin music industry.
For those unfamiliar with the Downtown Alive! series, it began last year as an extension of the 2012 WAMI Awards show. An all day event, the Downtown Alive series brought some of the best in Wisconsin music to the stage and gave fans a unique opportunity to visit local venues throughout the downtown Appleton area. Some of last year's artists include Nora Collins, Great Lakes Drifters, The Sandcarvers, The Form, Jayme Dawicki and DJ Kiki Champ.
The 2013 WAMI Awards are approaching quickly and the WAMI organization is looking for local Wisconsin artists to perform again. Downtown Alive! 2 is slated for Saturday, April 13, 2013 on Old World Street in Milwaukee. Twenty-five artists were on last year's docket and the deadline for submission is January 16, 2013.
