For years, parents have had to head over to EPCOT to enjoy a glass of wine, mixed drink, or just a pint of beer. But not anymore. Walt Disney Parks’ officials announced yesterday that Orlando’s Magic Kingdom will be serving beer and wine in one of its restaurants.

This is the first time since the park opened in 1971 that park goers have been able to order alcoholic beverages inside the walls of the Magic Kingdom.

The French-themed restaurant is part of the mutli-million dollar FantasyLand expansion that has been in the works for some time. "You cannot walk into a French restaurant and not get a glass of wine or beer," said Walt Disney Parks Food and Beverage President, Maribeth Bisienere.

The decision to add alcoholic drinks to the menu was based mainly on comments from park guests. It is to be hoped that Walt Disney Parks’ officials will tap the keg on other mainstay restaurants throughout the park.

Starting in November, park goers over the age of 21 can order a beer or a glass of wine at the aptly named restaurant, Be Our Guest. Hey...don’t mind if I do.

Expect to pay anywhere from $8 to $17 for a glass of French wine or Belgian beer.
