Walt Disney World offers ‘free dining’ promotion for fall 2014

Walt Disney World has released its fall 2014 travel dates for its popular "Free Dining" promotion.

On May 7, Walt Disney World Resort has again released its its “Free Dining” promotion for fall 2014 travel. Guests who book a Magic Your Way vacation package that includes at least three nights at a Disney Resort and a two-day ticket.

Disney “Free Dining” means that the value of the Disney Dining Plan is included in the Magic Your Way Package, although it's worth nothing guests do pay full price for the Disney Resort hotel room. "Free Dining" dates for fall 2014 are as follows:

  • Aug. 31 – Oct. 3
  • Oct. 26 – Nov. 1
  • Nov. 9 – Nov. 20
  • Dec. 12 – Dec. 23

To take advantage of this offer, guests or their travel agents must book by Aug. 8. Advance reservations are required to take advantage of this promotion. As with any Walt Disney World package, this offer is subject to availability and has other exclusions and there is no “double dipping;” group rates or other discounts apply.

Disney “Free Dining” details

Guests will receive one of two Disney Dining Plans without an additional charge, based on room categories. Guests staying at a Disney Value Resort will receive a free Quick Service Dining Plan. Guests staying a Disney Moderate, Deluxe or Deluxe Villa Resort will receive the standard Disney Dining Plan for free.

Guests may upgrade their Disney Dining Plans by paying the difference between the value of their “Free Dining” and the cost of their preferred plan.

  • Guests who are eligible for the Quick Service Dining Plan for free can upgrade to the regular Dining Plan for $18.65 per adult and $3.20 per child, or to the Deluxe Dining Plan for $67.54 per adult and $13.83 per child.
  • Guests who are eligible for the standard Disney Dining Plan for free can upgrade to the Deluxe Dining Plan for $48.89 per adult and $10.63 per child.

Disney “Free Dining” is not available for the Villas at Grand Floridian, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s All-Star Movies, Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside, campsites at Fort Wilderness and 3-bedroom villas. Also, additional charges will apply if there are more than two adults per room at Disney Value, Moderate and Deluxe resorts.

The offer is also only valid for official WDW resorts. Places like the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, Shades of Green, and Downtown Disney properties are excluded.

Worth noting about the “Free Dining” promotion: Disney guests whose arrival date falls during one of the dates listed above are eligible for free dining the their entire length-of-stay entire stay for up to 14 days.

Walt Disney World is also offering a “room only” promotion for travel dates during the early part of fall 2014. Disney guests who do not need a Magic Your Way vacation package or for whom the Disney Dining Plan does not save money may find this discounts a good alternative, depending on travel dates and availability of the promotion.
