In 2014 Labor Day falls on the first day of September. It is considered by many to be the unofficial end of summer. Since it is a long weekend, Walt Disney World in Florida will be crowded. According to The Weather Channel, it will be hot all three days, with a chance of thunderstorms.
The Magic Kingdom will be open 9:00am until midnight with two Extra Magic Hours on both Saturday, August 30, and Sunday, August 31. The park will be open 9:00am-7:00pm on Labor Day. That is also the first day of Mickey's-Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which is a separate ticketed event. Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade will take place at 3:00pm all three days. Main Street Electrical Parade will run at 9:00pm and 11:00pm on Saturday and Sunday, it will not be held on September 1. Wishes nighttime spectacular will take place at 10:00pm on both Saturday and Sunday, with no show on Monday.
Epcot will be open 9:00am-9:00pm all three Labor Day Weekend days. World Showcase will open two hours later. IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth will take place at the end of each day. It is held at 9:00pm.
Disney's Hollywood Studios will hold an Extra Magic Hour on August 30 at 8:00am. The park will be open to the general public 9:00am-9:30pm all three days. There will also be two Extra Magic Hours for Disney resort guests on Labor Day after the park closes. Fantasmic! will take place at 8:30 and 10:00pm all three days. Frozen Summer Fun LIVE! continues at the park as well, with special events throughout the day. The Frozen Fireworks Spectacular will take place at 9:15 each evening.
Disney's Animal Kingdom will be open 9:00am-8:00pm on Saturday, August 30. The hours on Sunday, August 31 will be 9:00am-7:00pm. On Labor Day there will be an Extra Magic Hour at 8:00am. The park will be open to the general public 9:00am-6:00pm. There are currently no parades or fireworks at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
