In 2013 Christmas Eve falls on a Tuesday. The days leading up to Christmas and the week between Christmas and New Year's is one of the busiest times of the year. If you plan to visit Walt Disney World during that week arrive early and take advantage of FASTPASS whenever possible.
On December 24 the Magic Kingdom will have an Extra Magic Hour at 7:00am. The park will open to the general public at 8:00am, and will remain open until 1:00am. Mickey's Once Upon A Christmastime Parade will be held at 12:30pm and again at 3:30pm. Main Street Electrical Parade will run at 9:00pm and again at 11:00pm. Celebrate the Magic will transform Cinderella Castle at 9:45pm and again at 10:35pm. Holiday Wishes - Celebrate the Spirit of the Season will light up the sky over the park at 10:00pm.
Epcot will open at 8:00am on the day before Christmas. World Showcase will open three hours later at 11:00am. The park will remain open to the general public until 9:30pm, and then will have two Extra Magic Hours for Disney Resort Guests. The Candlelight Processional will take place at 5:00pm, 6:45pm, and 8:15pm. Christian music superstar Steven Curtis Chapman is scheduled to be the celebrity narrator. IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth will take place at 9:30pm.
Disney's Animal Kingdom will open at 7:00am with an Extra Magic Hour. The park will open to the public at 8:00am on Christmas Eve, and will remain open until 8:00pm. Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade will be held at 3:45pm.
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will be open 10:00am-5:00pm on December 24, weather permitting. Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park will be closed December 22-March 15, 2014, for its annual refurbishment.
