Space Mountain is located in the Tomorrowland section of the Magic Kingdom. It is considered by most to be a "must do" Walt Disney World ride. Lines grow long early because of the ride's popularity, so guests should plan to ride early in the day. There is an interactive queue to help pass the time in case there is a long wait.
The building that houses Space Mountain is easy to recognize. Guests will most likely be able to spot it from the monorail as they approach the park. It is white with a sloped dome roof.
The ride is an indoor dark roller coaster which simulates a journey through space. It travels 180 feet high. There are no loops and it reaches a speed of approximately 30 miles an hour. Six people can ride at one time. There are two tracks, Alpha and Omega.
Riders need to take the warnings seriously. The ride is known to bother people who are prone to motion sickness. Guests must be at least 44 inches tall in order to ride. It is a FASTPASS attraction and lasts about two and a half minutes. Once the ride is over, guests will ride on a moving sidewalk through some futuristic scenes towards the way out. They will then pass through a gift shop before exiting.
