There's a whole new way to celebrate the season, coming soon to Disneyland and Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.
Disneyland attractions have been receiving holiday "overlays" for years, with the Haunted Mansion transforming to a Nightmare Before Christmas wonderland well before Halloween, and "it's a small world" turning into a Christmas fantasy during the holiday season. But now the holiday overlay is expanding to both coasts with the announcement of the Jingle Jungle Cruise, a new Christmas look for the iconic Magic Kingdom attraction.
According to the Disney Parks Blog, the Jungle Cruise Skippers are homesick as the holiday season approaches, so they're going to do a little decorating and change-up their jokes to try and cheer themselves up. Christmas decorations will appear around the queue (including "homemade" decorations as well as those mailed from more civilized places), the Jungle Cruise ships will receive new holiday-themed names, and even the squawky old radio station that entertains guests waiting in the queue will have a new holiday playlist.
The Jingle Cruise will be departing daily starting in early November.
