Since the announcement of the iPhone 4 at the WWDC, stores have been trying to get their hands on Apple’s killer device to sell on release day June 24. Last week, it came out that both RadioShack and Best Buy would be selling the 4 in their stores on launch day. Now, America’s largest superstore is getting into the iPhone 4 foray too.
According to CNET, Wal-Mart will be selling the iPhone 4 on release day. Neither the number of stores it will be in, nor the number of units each store will get has been disclosed as of now. While pre-orders in most stores start June 14, Walmart will not be taking pre orders. This is not unusual for Walmart, as they like to create a buzz and general stir when they release their popular promotions or devices.
As the options keep increasing for your impending iPhone 4 purchases, it might actually be fairly easy to obtain one at launch if you go through the proper channels. If you either camp out at a store before launch day, or reserve one, you should be in good shape to get one.
