Another Walmart layaway angel comes forward and pays of $5,000 worth of Walmart layaways for families who couldn’t afford to do this. An older woman showed up at a Mesa, Arizona Walmart and gave the Walmart employees $5,000 to pay off layaways that contained mostly stuff for kids, according to Fox News on Dec. 16.
The unnamed woman showed up after the layaway time was up and people were to lose their layaways for lack of picking them up. The older and unnamed woman said to the Walmart staff that she remembers when she was little, her mother couldn’t pay off a Christmas layaway. She thought she’d help those out who are in the same boat this Christmas.
Walmart employees immediately got to work paying off layaways and then calling the people to tell them to come and get them because they were paid off by a stranger. This is where the tears would come in, people on the other end of the phone would start to cry, said Walmart store manager, Rita Barreras.
The $5,000 dollars paid off roughly 30 layaways that otherwise would have not gone home for the kids this Christmas. This comes on the heels of another man who dropped over $20,000 at a California Walmart paying off people’s layaway. This man used his credit cards and paid off the layaways for people in line picking them up. Read the full story:
