Walmart and Straight Talk to offer iPhone on no contact unlimited plan

At CES today, January 8, Walmart and Straight Talk announced that customers will be able to purchase the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4 on Straight Talk’s $45 no contract, unlimited talk, text, and data plan. This offer will be available at more than 2,000 Walmart stores and online at Walmart.com starting January 11.

The iPhone 5 will be available for in both black and white models at $649 for the 16GB model. While the iPhone 4 will be offered in black and white models at $449 for the 8GB model.

Those who purchase a phone in a Walmart store will be eligible for no interest fixed-monthly payments special financing offer for only $25 a month with a Walmart Credit Card. This is a good alternative for those wishing to stay off a dedicated contract. According to Straight Talk, it could save a consumer up to $950 per year.

“We believe customers shouldn’t have to choose between saving money and having the latest technology,” said Seong Ohm, senior vice president of Entertainment for Walmart U.S. “Now customers can have the coveted iPhone with unlimited talk, text and data without a contract for $70 a month thanks to our exclusive Straight Talk plan and industry first financing offer.”

For those wishing to have unlimited international calling to more than 1,000 destinations in Mexico, Canada, India, and in other countries, Walmart and Straight Talk offer a $60 plain as well. If you were waiting for a non-contract option for the iPhone 5, stop by your local Walmart store on or after January 11.
