Wallaroo Hats continue beating the sun’s rays with their spring 2011 collection

Wallaroo Hat Company, based out of Boulder, Colorado, provides some of the best quality hats available today. Wallaroo was founded by Stephanie Carter and Lenya Shore back in April of 1999 after they discovered there were no hats in the United States available with UPF 50+ sun protection. This discovery occurred after Carter and Shore had worn some fashionable sun-protected hats they had gotten from Australia, and many of their friends and family were asking where these came from.

While climbing and rappelling down in the heat and sun of St. George, Utah, a Wallaroo hat was perfect to protect from the blazing rays. The mornings weren’t too bad but once noon hit, the sun was hitting full force on the basalt rocks of Crawdad Canyon. Dark hair, as we all know, has a tendency to absorb heat to where you can practically fry an egg on your head or so it feels like. With the hat and its UPF 50+ protection, it definitely kept the head at a manageable temperature.

The temperature at Cougar Cliffs can hit anywhere from 95 to 100+ degrees during the summer time in the mid-afternoon. This is a great place to rappel, and views are absolutely incredible. Sometimes that sun can be quite overwhelming, but the Wallaroo hat, once again, did an amazing job in managing the sun while rappelling down the 150+ foot cliffs.

Wallaroo has some classy, fun, and chic styles coming out for their Spring 2011 collection. The Women’s Sports Cap & Visor are sports specific. It is made with 100% polyester and the fabric is moisture-wicking and quick-drying. The cap has an adjustable clip in back and the visor adjusts with Velcro. Both styles have a 3” bill.

The Fiona is another new hat in the Women’s Collection that is one of those classic Fedoras that never goes out of style. It is made of 80% angora and 20% nylon with a hidden drawstring for custom sizing. This hat is available now.

On the men’s side, the Beach hat has a straw basket weave, and the inner lining fully protects from the sun’s harsh rays. There is an embroidered binding edge with a native-inspired pattern and a cotton drawstring cord.

In order to protect the delicate heads of the kiddos, the new Crocodile and Shark Hat will be playful and fun for them to wear. The Crocodile hat comes in pink for the girls, and the Shark hat is blue for the boys. They are 100% cotton and have a sturdy cotton drawstring in the front.
