Darrell Wallace Jr. will make his first Nationwide Series start of the 2014 at Talladega Superspeedway on Saturday, driving the No. 20 ToyotaCare Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Wallace Jr. will start third on Saturday, behind his JGR teammates Sam Hornish Jr., who won the pole in his first Nationwide Series start for JGR of the season, and Elliott Sadler, who starts on the outside pole.

Wallace Jr., a development driver for JGR, runs in the Camping World Truck Series full-time for Kyle Busch Motorsports, owned by his JGR teammate Kyle Busch. In two races so far in 2014, he was caught up in an accident at Daytona, finishing 26th, and was the runner-up at Martinsville after winning the pole. Wallace Jr. picked up his first Truck Series win in 2013 in the fall race at Martinsville.

Wallace Jr. has four previous Nationwide Series starts for JGR: one each at Dover and Richmond and two at Iowa, all coming in 2012. He finished in the top 12 in all four races, with a best finish of seventh at the August race at Iowa; he also won the pole for the race at Dover.

This will be Wallace Jr.’s second start at Talladega; in last year’s Camping World Truck Series race at the track, Wallace Jr. qualified 10th and finished 17th.

The Camping World Truck Series gets back on track Friday, May 9th with the SFP 250 at Kansas Speedway. Keep up with the action at www.kylebuschmotorsports.com.
