It’s like a flashback to the 1960’s: hundreds of smelly, disaffected and ignorant people with protest signs, smoking dope and urinating in public. But today it’s happening on Wall Street. What are they protesting? They don’t know. Capitalism, Jews, and the “rich” seem to be the main targets, but mainly they are just lazy, entitled youth without a clue of why they’re even there.
Welcome to Obamaville – decades of class warfare from the Democrat party have reached their apogee under his Holiness, The Dali Obama, and the stinky hoard on Wall Street are the visible result. Now the protesters have begun to march on the homes of wealthy New Yorkers to protest the fact that they are wealthy.
They denounce Wall Street, even though most carry iPhones, iPods, laptop computers and wear designer clothes all brought to them via companies whose stock is traded every day on Wall Street. What’s more absurd is that the stinkies are protesting our capitalist system but they fail to realize that we do not have a capitalist system in America.
The United States federal government put an end to capitalism decades ago. The government tells business what wages to pay workers, how many hours they can work, how many inches above the floor their computer keyboard can be, how frequently and for how long employees will take breaks, with whom a business can trade, where and under what conditions they can open business locations, what materials their products will be made of and from whom they may be purchased, whom the business must hire of particular races or gender, how much noise, dust and carbon dioxide they can produce, which companies will receive special tax breaks, and which companies will be handed billions of taxpayer dollars and which ones will not.
This is not capitalism. What they are protesting – to the extent they even know why they are there – is the current system of government-controlled crony capitalism. A more frank name for it would be old fashioned corruption or racketeering, but now we use terms like loan guarantees and bailouts. Surely, some Wall Street firms acted irresponsibly and even criminally in the run up to the financial crisis of 2008, but had the Bush and Obama administrations not stolen trillions of dollars from the American people and doled it out to their pals, the stinkies on Wall Street would have no one to protest against today; they’d be out of business.
These protests are spreading to other cities as well and can be expected to grow as Obama and his ilk drive our nation off a cliff and the numbers of unemployed continue to grow. This is no accident, but is being done by design. Massive unemployment combined with a steady drumbeat of socialistic class warfare propaganda from Obama and his allies, can be effective when accompanied by a credulous media establishment eager to whip up anger and violence against Mr. Obama’s chosen scapegoats for his destruction of our economy – the rich.
You may expect these tactics to continue and escalate as the 2012 election approaches. This will likely be the most vitriolic and violent presidential campaign in more than a century. Stay tuned in Obamaville.
