'Walking Dead' star Norman Reedus has been announced as the latest celebrity to take on animal testing. Norman Reedus has teamed up with Cruelty Free International to work toward banning animal testing for cosmetics in the United States and other parts of the world. Other celebrities to also work with Cruelty Free International include Peter Dinklage, Ricky Gervais, Joss Stone and Sir Paul McCartney.
The Walking Dead star stated, 'Scores of countries around the world are beating the U.S to become cruelty-free by banning cosmetics tests on animals. Nobody wants rabbits and guinea-pigs to suffer for vanity, least of all animals.' Norman Reedus, along with many others, would like to see the United States catch up and also ban animal testing in cosmetics. This past year the European Union, Israel and most recently India have all banned cosmetics manufactured with animal testing.
Aside of the Walking Dead, Norman Reedus has had an exciting career. Reedus is also known for his roles on television series including the hit series 'Charmed.' Reedus's movie career includes 'The Boondock Saints,' 'American Gangster,' 'The Notorious Bettie Page' as well as many others.
Cruelty Free International is an organization known for working to ban animal testing in cosmetics. They work directly with companies, regulators and government. Cruelty Free International Chief Executive, Michelle Thew, says that they are excited that Norman has joined them as a voice for animals.
