AMC has officially announced their plans for a "Walking Dead" spin-off for all of you zombie fans for their television schedule in 2015 according to Monday, September 16 reports from Hollywood News Daily.
The new "Walking Dead" spin-off will be "an entirely new story," and consist of an all new cast of characters according to the network. The details pertaining to the plot line have not yet been released.
AMC's president and general manager, Charlie Collier released the following statement on Monday afternoon saying:
“It’s a big world and we can’t wait to give fans another unforgettable view of the zombie apocalypse.”
It was also announced that the drama would be produced by "Walking Dead" comic creator and executive producer Robert Kirkman.
“After 10 years of writing the comic book series and being so close to the debut of our fourth, and in my opinion, best season of the TV series, I couldn’t be more thrilled about getting the chance to create a new corner of The Walking Dead universe. The opportunity to make a show that isn’t tethered by the events of the comic book, and is truly a blank page, has set my creativity racing," stated Kirkman.
This exciting announcement from AMC follows the network's previous announcement that they would also be including a "Breaking Bad" spin-off, "Better Call Saul," last week.
The highly anticipated debut of the fourth season of “Walking Dead” is set to premiere on October 13 on AMC.
Do you believe there is room for another zombie drama series or will AMC be pushing it with a spin-off?
