On season 4, episode 2 of "The Walking Dead," it was discovered that Patrick was one of the walkers and died. When the group looked at his body, they realized that there were no bite or scratch marks and they came to the conclusion that he just died, with Hershel saying he choked on his own blood and theorizing that it was some sort of fast-acting flu. They realize that they all may have been exposed. Then they hear Karen coughing and Tyreese was going to take her to his cell so she could rest, but the group informs them of their discovery. Just to be safe, they need to be separated. Karen tells them that David was also coughing. They decide to put them in cell block A, which was death row.
Later, Tyreese excitedly went to where Karen was being held, carrying a bouquet of white flowers. He looked so excited to see her, but the cell was empty and there was a trail of blood on the floor, as if someone had dragged a bloody body. He followed the trail of blood down the corridor and then opened up the door to the outside where he encounters two burnt bodies that were still smoldering. He recognizes one of them to be Karen from the bracelet on her wrist.
It is reasonable to assume that the second body belongs to David, the other prison resident who was coughing. Seeing how quickly Patrick was feeling sick and then just a little while later died, it is possible that both Karen and David died before they were set on fire. But if this is true, why wasn't anyone else informed and who burnt their bodies? Another possibility is that Karen and David were murdered, but that again leaves the question of who did it.
Bob Stookey could be responsible. He was around when the group was discussing Patrick and the illness, but after that he was not seen. He is a recent addition to the prison and may have done what he felt he had to do to survive.
Rick is another possible suspect. In a preview of episode 3, Tyreese goes after Rick and attacks him. Also, on "Infected," Rick set the pigpen on fire and threw his shirt in it because it was bloody. While the blood is assumed to be from the piglets he threw out to the walkers, some of it could also belong to David and Karen. He already had the gasoline and the matches.
Who do you think burnt those bodies on "Infected?" What do you think will happen on the next episode of "The Walking Dead?"
