'Walking Dead' news: Danai Gurira talks about Michonne

Danai Gurira, who plays Michonne on AMC's "The Walking Dead" revealed some interested things about her character to E!Online on Dec. 31.

The actress revealed that she spent time preparing for her role of Michonne by watching the first season of the show and by studying her character in the graphic novels. She viewed Michonne as having Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTST) and studied up on the condition.

Danai Gurira says that not speaking a whole lot in "The Walking Dead" is difficult for her. The actress loves language and enjoys expressing herself, but as with any role, there are certain challenges.

As far as Michonne's katana is concerned, the actress says that she started training with it and found it to be very demanding. Even though she is athletic, the sword uses different muscles and she found it painful. However, viewers would never know it because of how fierce and effortlessly she swings that weapon.
