The seventh installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise that made Paul Walker famous, and has starred in thus far five of the six, has been placed on hold by Universal Pictures. The film had a tentative released date next year for July 11th.
"At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on 'Fast & Furious 7' for a period of time,” Universal Pictures said in a statement, “so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise.”
The deaths of both men have been ruled as accidents, and were the results of the car striking a fixed object. Video has been released of the Carrera GT crashing into a utility pole. Sixty seconds later, the vehicle bursts into flames.
It will take another six to eight weeks for toxicology reports to be resulted.
