Join in a free walk that winds its way past Portland's historic and fun fountains and bubblers on Saturday, August 31, 2013. Register and start your walk from REI, 14th and NW Johnson, any time from 10 am until 1 pm. A guided group will start at 10:30 am for those who want walking partners.
The walk has a choice of a 3.7 mile (6 kilometer) route and a 6.2 mile (10 kilometer) route. Both are rated easy, on sidewalks. Pets are allowed on leash.
The walk will also include the "Art in the Pearl" exhibits, Saturday Market, and Portland's Farmers Market. You can explore at your own pace, guided by a map and trail markings. Walkers can browse and shop, stop for lunch and enjoy. Just be back tot he finish by 4 pm. This is a volkssport walk with optional IVV credit for $3.
Driving Directions: I-5: Exit # 302B onto I-405 and cross Fremont Bridge. Take exit # 2B toward Everett St., LEFT on NW Everett St. Left on NW 14th Ave. LEFT on NW Johnson St. REI will be on the right. There is limited parking so plan on parking on NW 17th Ave as there is free parking in that area.
