See also

Enjoy the Christmas Ship Parade as you walk along the Willamette River on Saturday, December 14, 2013. This free walk is offered each year by the Columbia River Volkssport Club. The 5K (3.1 mile) or 10K (6.2 mile) route is rated easy -- but dark!

Register and start walking from the Buffalo Gap Pub & Eatery, 6835 SW Macadam Ave, Portland, OR. You can start at any time from 4 p.m. through 7 p.m. and must finish by 10 p.m. The event is free, with optional IVV credit for $3.

The walk will be mostly on the paved bike path along the Portland Greenway from Willamette Park to the OHSU Tram with views of the Christmas Boats of the Columbia River and Willamette River Fleets combined.

The boats are scheduled to sail south (upriver) from the Riverplace Marina at 5 p.m. They sail up to Lake Oswego, then turn around to return and pass by again after 7 pm.

Walkers must carry flashlights as the path has many dark areas. Take an optional trip on the Tram or Streetcar to view downtown Christmas
Lights and Christmas Tree at Pioneer Square.
