On October 10, from 7 am to 2 pm, The Friends of Long Beach Animals WALK/Run for the Animals will be taking place at Marina Green in Downtown Long Beach.

Come down to this great event and walk your dog and help raise awareness and funds for other homeless animals. Also, promote Life Safety for Pets and People alike!

Register early for $25 and get water, t-shirt, a doggie bag and be entered to win prizes. Registration event morning begins at 7 am and is $30.

The walk is separated into two different distances, the 2k walk and the 5k walk. Both will start at Marina Green and walk towards the Lighthouse and Queen Mary. There is also a 5k and 10k run, which is a great tuneup before the Long Beach International City Bank Marathon the next week, begins in the same area but travels along the beach path towards the Belmont Pier and circles back to the starting point.

There will be special guests and WALK Leaders including Nancy Foster with Noah, Long Beach’s First Feline, and Annie with Blair Cohn, executive director of Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association.

There will be people-and pet-safety exhibits, vendor samples, agility demonstrations, Lions Project for Canine Companion Independence, Therapy Dogs International, costume contest, and much more. There will be multiple performances and also great music, so make it an afternoon!
