Friends of the Amitabha Stupa and Peace Park in Sedona, AZ are celebrating the U.N.'s International Day of Peace, today, September 21, 2013, with a Walk for Peace. The events will begin at 9 AM and close after the 7 PM Candlelight Vigil.
Are you wondering how you can contribute to a more peaceful world? Then come to the Amitabha Stupa and Peace Park on Saturday, September 21st.
Join the Walk for Peace around the Amitabha Stupa in recognition of the United Nation's the International Day of Peace. This is a global celebration and other Stupa sites around the world are participating as well. A full day of activities is planned including meditation sessions, brief remarks by Sedona Mayor Rob Adams of Sedona, representatives from Sedona: International City of Peace; live music; a with traditional smoke offering to dispel causes of suffering; a universal dance of peace; teas from China and raw chocolate tastings, a Feast for Peace with light fare offered by local restaurants; and a closing candlelight vigil circumambulating the Stupa.
Please bring canned goods to be distributed to those in need through the Sedona Community Food Bank.
For those of you who contribute monthly to the Friends of Amitabha Stupa and give donations when you visit the Stupa, we are forever grateful and so appreciative of your vital support. Events like this could not occur without your generosity!

1:30 PM: Tonglen: sending and receiving meditation for peace
2 PM: Brief remarks from Sedona: International City of Peace representatives
3 PM - 4 PM: Jesse Kalu performs his etheric flute compositions and poetry
4 PM: Universal Dance for Peace
5 PM: Community Feast for Peace
5 PM to 6 PM: Adalia Tara, singer/songwriter performs
6 PM: Jake Payne, singer/songwriter performs
7 PM: Candlelight vigil for peace around the Stupa
