The Walk for Life this year is being sponsored by The Women’s Centers of Greater Chicagoland. It is scheduled to take place this upcoming Sunday, September 29th from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. It is a three mile walk taking place in two separate locations:
1. For the Southern part of Chicagoland, the event is at St. Alexander which is located at 126th and 71st Avenue in Palos Heights.
2. For the Northern part of Chicagoland, the event is at Our Lady of Victory which is located at 5212 West Agatite in Chicago.
If you are unfamiliar with the Walk for Life, know that the funds that are raised on this Sunday will go toward helping to save babies from abortion and to support the mothers that are facing unplanned pregnancies. The sponsor, The Women’s Centers of Greater Chicagoland is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization. It was founded in 1984 with the sole purpose of providing life-affirming counseling and tangible material assistance to those women that find themselves facing a crisis pregnancy. The organization is located at 5116 North Cicero in Chicago.
Each of the two walks has specific scheduled guidelines.
· For those participating on the Southern section of Chicago, you will be able to check in at 8:30 a.m. Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. for those participants wishing to attend. Then the Walk will begin at 10:30 sharp. · For those participating on the Northern section of Chicago, the check-in opens a bit later at 9:00 a.m. Their Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. and their Walk begins promptly at 11:00 a.m. They will have parking available for their participants in their school parking lot as well as on the nearby residential street.

If the participants are in grammar school, middle school or high school, they will receive the goodies when they collect a mere $10 of pledges. The idea is to get the word out!
In order to collect your pledges as those you know, family and friends, to go online to www.womens-center.org/donate to support your efforts. In order for you to get credit, your supporters will simply have to fill in your name in the “In Memory Of” space. Then you just have to choose your walk location.
