WALA-TV weather reporter explains lack of temperature readings for Gulf Shores

On Monday, February 24th, Michael White of WALA-TV's weather department used a weather segment for their local morning news program ("FOX 10 News in the Morning") to explain why he and the weather reporters for other local TV stations had been unable to show temperature readings for Gulf Shores, Alabama (southeast of Mobile) on the weather maps for their stations' news programs in months: he said the weather station in Gulf Shores their weather computers normally used for displaying temperature readings for Gulf Shores on their maps had not been repaired since lightning struck it back in September 2013.
