WALA-TV hires former employee of WPMI-TV for news department

WALA-TV recently hired Michael Brannon, a former Internet reporter for WPMI-TV and a sports announcer for the University of South Alabama in Mobile, for their news department. His last workday at WPMI-TV was Wednesday, February 27th and his first workday at WALA-TV was Tuesday, March 5th.

His duties at WALA-TV will include operating a TV camera and reporting news from outside of the station while in front of the lens of a TV camera operated by another person. His first report for WALA-TV was broadcast on Thursday, March 7th, during the station's local 5:00 p.m. newscast. His second report was broadcast during the station's next 5:00 p.m. newscast on Friday, March 8th.

Videos of Michael Brannon's first two reports were uploaded onto the official World Wide Web site for WALA-TV along with written versions of the reports (link to first report and link to second report).
