WALA-TV had planned on extending the broadcast time for their local entertainment and lifestyle program "Studio 10" beyond its regular broadcast time period (8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.) on Wednesday, January 15th, in order for its hosts to announce the names of musical performers scheduled to perform at the Hangout Music Festival scheduled to take place in Gulf Shores, Alabama (southeast of Mobile), from Friday, May 16th, to Sunday, May 18th, at 9:00 a.m, but decided for them to announce some of the names shortly before 9:00 a.m. instead and end the program at 8:59 a.m. as usual due to all of the names being posted onto the official Facebook page for the festival at 8:37 a.m (the station broadcast nothing but blackness for a few seconds after the end of "Studio 10" before broadcasting the syndicated discussion program "Bethenny" all ready in progress).
