According to an administrator for the official Facebook page for WALA-TV, technical problems affected the audio for some of the news and weather segments of the local news program the station produced on the morning of Monday, August 19th. For example, one of the weather segments affected had no audio, even though the news segment that preceded it had audio.
The administrator for the Facebook page addressed the audio problems on the page in the form of a message shortly after three reports about the news program having no sound were posted there between 4:35 a.m. and 4:55 a.m. (WALA-TV's morning news program was usually produced from 4:30 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. from Monday through Friday). You may access those reports and the message by the administrator by selecting the following links:
Shortly before the administrator addressed the audio problems, the weather reporter who presented the weather segments that had no audio (Michael White) acknowledged the problems through Facebook page also, specifically through his professional Facebook page. You may access that acknowledgement (along with an image of him with a hand around one of his ears) by selecting this link (the acknowledgement and the image were shared with the official Facebook page for WALA-TV about one minute after they posted onto the reporter's Facebook page).
