Tuesday, a man who was seen riding a motorized shopping cart in a Florida Wal-Mart over the weekend was charged with a DUI and retail theft of alcohol, according to the Christian Post; the Wal-Mart shopping cart DUI news has created an Internet buzz Wednesday.
Timothy Carr was seen driving a motorized cart at the Wal-Mart in Brooksville, Florida on Sunday evening and police said that he has been charged with a felony for disorderly intoxication and was given another charge for retail theft. Carr picked up alcoholic beverages and placed them in the Wal-Mart motorized cart, and then drank some of the beer as he drove around the store.
Witnesses reported that he was driving around recklessly and running into shelves with the cart, and knocking items over; he was reported to management who called the police. This is the third time that Carr has been charged with retail theft.
Carr reportedly told the police that he was homeless and did not have the money to pay for the alcohol he drank in the Wal-Mart store.
