If you skipped the Black Friday Blitz sale at Wal-Mart in San Diego this year, you might be feeling as though you missed out on something, but after you look at these videos, I think you will change your mind. You won't be able to keep yourself from shaking your head when you watch the crowds grabbing, shoving and yelling.
The first video on the left shows a Wal-mart Black Friday sale and the security yelling at everyone to back off. Towards the end of the video you see an empty cardboard display stand that was once full of video games, being lifted over customers heads by security.
In this next video at an unknown Wal-mart you see four Wal-mart employees trying to control a crowd of about 200 people trying to purchase slow cookers. You can hear someone yelling "no pushing" and then telling people to "stop" as they keep pushing closer and closer to him. At a little over half way into the video the crowds begin to grab slow cookers and one man gets angry and starts yelling at the crowd.
In San Benito, Texas Wal-Mart the video shows people crowding and grabbing for towels.
At the Wal-Mart in Honolulu, Hawaii, I think you will be amazed at the movement of the crowd and the merchandise being grabbed in this frenzy of people.
In this video of an unknown Wal-Mart on Black Friday, you can hear security blowing a whistle because the crowd got unruly as they tried to grab DVD's.
In 2008, a Wal-Mart worker was killed when a crowd of shoppers burst through the door at a Long Island Wal-Mart on Black Friday. Wal-Mart was cited in May 2009 by the OSHA for having inadequate crowd management during that incident. Wal-Mart agreed to improve crowd management at post-Thanksgiving Day sales, set up a $400,000 fund for victims and give $1.5 million to county social services programs and non profit groups and to develop safety plans for its stores.
In 2009, many Walmart's stayed open for 24 hours to avoid the need for a morning -after rush on its stores. This year, they closed and opened at midnight.

"not having inadequate crowd management during that incident."
good article but you might want to fix the double negative. I think you mean to say "not having adequate."
That's insane...I am too chicken to try to go to Walmart on Black Friday. No deal is worth killing over.
