Wakarusa announced the third and final installment of the line-up for this year's festival today. The 11th annual festival will be held June 5-8, 2014 on beautiful Mulberry Mountain near Ozark, Arkansas.
Today's announcement is led by The String Cheese Incident, who will be playing 2 sets at Wakarusa this year. SCI's Michael Travis and Jason Hann will be performing in their side project EOTO as well. Don't be surprised if members of Cheese sit in for this set or anyone's set for that matter. Regardless, SCI's gracing of Mulberry is long overdue and will be sure to thrill.
Headliner Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros will be returning to the festival after a 2 year absence. This is an ensemble band's ensemble band, if that makes any sense. They are the epitome of an interchangeable collective as they feature a revolving lineup of 12 musicians that give the band a rich, distinctive sound.
Personally, I am excited this year when it comes to the mid-level headliners and "lower tier" bands that comprise the entire line-up. Whether it's Papadosio, Lettuce, Dr. Dog, The Floozies, Orgone, Nahko and Medicine for the People, Dopapod or The Ben Miller Band, there are plenty of gems out there to be taken in.
Then you have Interstellar Meltdown, Wakarusa's EDM component, which boasts a very strong showing including the likes of Bassnectar and Infected Mushroom. Also, there will be the newly revamped STS9, who will be looking to prove themselves in the midst of a line-up transition. But again, look a little deeper and you will be truly rewarded here. Be sure to check out sets by Ott., Minnesota, Random Rab, Govinda, Phutureprimitive, Thriftworks and Break Science.
Full Event Passes, as well as Camping, RV, and VIP Passes are on sale now. For information, lineup and ticketing information visit the official Wakarusa website: www.wakarusa.com.
