Waitress handed her own driver's license when she carded a woman

A waitress asked a patron for identification and was shocked to be handed her own driver’s license. In February, the waitress’ wallet was stolen and the thief began using her identity.

Brianna Priddy stated after her wallet was stolen, “My wallet was stolen. It was a pain in the butt.”

Brianna Priddy was a waitress at Applebee’s in Lakewood, Colorado. One night when she was working, a woman ordered a drink and Priddy asked her for her identification.

The woman handed Priddy “her” driver’s license to prove she was 21. Priddy looked at the woman’s identification and recognized it as her own stolen driver’s license.

Brianna Priddy contacted the police department and watched for them to arrive at the restaurant. Priddy kept serving the women and the people she was with in an effort to stall them until the police got there.

She said, “I didn’t say anything. I handed it back to her and said sure I’ll be right back with your margarita. I went straight to the phone, called the cops.”

A police spokesperson Steve Davis said that, “Dumb criminal was the first phrase that comes to mind, especially since the thief is 26 and didn’t need a fake idea to buy alcohol. We found some narcotics in this woman’s possession, so she’s in quite a bit of hot water.”

The woman is facing felony charges including theft, identity theft and criminal impersonation. Police stated she will also face narcotic charges after their investigation is completed.
