Aurora Kephart, 25, received an enormous tip from one of her regular customers at Conway’s Restaurant and Lounge in Springfield, Oregon, according to a UPI report on Saturday.
A customer, who chooses to remain anonymous, often tips by giving away Keno tickets. Recently, he was served by Kephart and took out some Keno tickets and told her to pick two from the bunch. She did. The first one turned out to be worth $5, and the second one was worth $17,500.
Kephart has worked at the restaurant and lounge for about four years and said she often receives Keno tickets as a tip from one of the bar’s regular customers. To the waitress’ good fortune, that customer was in the restaurant and lounge last Tuesday while she was serving him.
Kephart said that the look on the customer’s face was incredible – and she said she automatically handed it back to him because it was his ticket. The customer, however, refused to take it back and made her sign it so that only she would be able to collect the prize money.
On Wednesday, Kephart went to the Oregon Lottery office in Salem to claim the prize. She said she had to give him some of the money but didn’t say exactly how much. With her share, she plans to buy a new couch and put the rest in the bank.
