The Wadsworth Atheneum is a museum in Hartford that offers tours for children and adults. A qualified tour guide will walk the group through the museum giving highlights of history and focusing on certain pieces. For adults there is a tour called Highlight of the Collection that focuses on some of the old masters and newer works. They have contemporary art, Colt Firearms, costumes and textiles, European Art, Decorative Art and The Hudson River School. Admission is $10 for adults, student 13 and up $5, and children 12 and under are free. It has a museum cafe open Wednesday thru Sunday for late breakfast and lunch. Don't forget to stop at the Museum Shop a gift shop with books, toys and other gifts.
