Wackenhut Gartens has a new home, just across the street from their former home. They are now located at 11506 Jackson Road, on the corner of Lima Center Road just east of the Fletcher Road exit off I-94, in the historic, brick, Lima Center trolley station (and the garage space next door).
In their expanded surroundings, Janice Stevenson and Paul Wackenhut still offer the friendly greetings, excavating services for ponds, quality landscaping materials, plants, and charming gift selection you have come to expect.
You will find art glass, stuffed toys, art made from nature, framed photos, bird houses, bird baths, garden sculpture, gift cards, books, tools, candles, canning supplies, seasonal plantings, floral design services, fresh baked goods, jams and treats from Benjamin Twiggs, dishes from Bybee Pottery (the oldest pottery in the US), and coming soon, fresh holiday trees.
There is new stock arriving almost every week. This is a wonderful spot to find the gift for that hard to please person on your list. You should visit them often.
Wackenhut Gartens is open Monday through Saturday from 9 am until 6 pm, and Sunday from noon until 5 pm. You can phone them at 734 474 3088. You can email them at wackenhut48130@Yahoo.com.
On Saturday November 13, Wackenhut Gartens is holding their Holiday Open House and will begin collecting new unwrapped toys for the Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots. Local radio station 102.9 W4 Country will be on hand broadcasting from the Wackenhut shops.
