The Wachowskis sued? According to E Online on March 4, a writer has sued Andy and Lana Wachowski for $300 million, accusing the siblings of stealing his scripts to create "The Matrix Reloaded" and "The Matrix Revolutions."
The man suing the siblings is Thomas Althouse, who filed his lawsuit against the Wachowskis as well as Joel Silver and Warner Bros. He is representing himself in the case, choosing to forego the option of using a real attorney.
Althouse claims he wrote scripts called "The Immortals" in 1993, registered through the Writers Guild of America. He copyrighted it with the U.S. Copyright Office in 1996. He said that he turned in his script to Warner Bros. through his attorney in 1993 and they acknowledged receipt of the screenplay.
The two "Matrix" sequels hit in 2003.
Thomas Althouse claims the reason it has taken him a full decade to file the lawsuit was because he never saw "The Matrix Reloaded" and "The Matrix Revolutions" until 2010, when he alleges that he realized his scripts had been used to create a "substantial part" of the movies.
Althouse claims he created "enhancers" in which immortals can interact with the virtual world, much like the Matrix. He also said his main character Jim is similar to Neo.
