Wachovia Invests in Atlanta Black Owned Bank Capitol City

Wachovia Bank in Atlantic Station

Wachovia has announced a $600,000 investment in Atlanta's Capitol City Bank and Trust.  Capitol City is an African-American owned bank.  Wachovia will take an equity stake in Capitol City in the form of preferred stock of their parent company Capitol City Bancshares, Inc. 

Wachovia previously held a $1 Million investment in Capitol City Bancshares.  This new infusion increases their share to 60%.  Capitol City is a $300 Million asset holding bank with 5 bank locations in Atlanta, one in Savannah, one in Augusta, and one in Albany.
