VVS Honor Society students make donation to R-CATS

On February 6, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Honor Society seniors Megan Centore and Katherine Scherz presented R-CATS with a donation of cat food, kitty litter, toys, treats and other essentials for feline health and well being. The donations will be used to help the R-CATS program care for the cats they have in foster care awaiting adoption. They were joined by Marrisa Scherz, Katherine's sister, in making the donation.

Centore and Scherz raised the money to purchase goods for the cats as part of their community service project as National Honor Society members through bake sales, donation jars, and a Mice & Cheese fund raiser. This autumn, Centore will attend Medaille College to study for a career as a Veterinary Technician while Scherz will attend Cazenovia College to pursue Fashion Design.

R-CATS representative Robin Yager said, "We appreciate being chosen as the recipient of their project. We wish them well and every success in achieving their goals."

There are several cats available for adoption through, R-CATS. Learn more by visiting them on Petfinder.
