VP Biden says Obama could invoke ‘executive order’ to enact gun control (Video)

Working with his gun control task force today in Washington, Vice President Joe Biden said that President Barack Obama could, at his discretion, utilize executive privilege to deal with gun control. When it comes down to the final word, President Obama is committed to the idea of gun control, with or without congressional approval.

"There are executive orders, executive action that can be taken," Biden said, adding "we haven't decided what that is yet."

He also said separate legislative action would be "required." ~ FOX News

President of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, Dan Gross, confirmed today after meeting with the vice president that White House officials "talked about ... their willingness to use executive action where that's appropriate."

Meeting with the gun control task force today today were various gun-advocacy groups that included Arizona for Gun Safety, the Brady Campaign, the Campaign to Keep Guns off Campus, and Mayors Against Illegal Guns.

And tomorrow, the Biden task force gets to meet with representatives from the National Rifle Association.

Vice President Biden is looking at an end of January deadline to forward his task force’s proposals and recommendations for stemming the tide of gun violence to the president for his consideration.

Those proposals could also include recommendations for executive actions that President Obama could sign into law without prior approval from Congress.
