In order to place a vote, you must first register your email on the site (for free). You will then be sent a confirmation email that you must reply to in order for your account to become active. Once active, you can log-in and place your votes in all categories. Unlike in the past - where you could only vote in each category once per week - the rules now state that you can vote daily for your favorite companies, hot spots and dishes.

In the Weddings category, there are 17 subcategories: Cake, Caterer, DJ, Invitations, Flowers, Limousine, Make-Up, Musicians and Soloists, Photographer, Party Rentals, Rings, Tuxedo, Wedding Planner, Wedding Dresses, Videographer, Venue and Special Touch. Click here for a list of 2013 winners in each of these categories.

Last year, a rule change heavily impacted smaller wedding companies. Beginning in 2013, "combo companies" - companies that offer more than one service - were allowed to gather votes in multiple categories. In years' past, all companies were only eligible in one category. Since the "combo companies" are much larger, they are now able to win in multiple categories. This rule change is still in effect for 2014, much to the chagrin of smaller, specialty companies that may not have the reach or market share of the larger companies.

Recognition in the "4 the Best" competition usually helps boost awareness for the involved companies, which results in more business. It also allows faithful and/or satisfied clients to let others know that they feel their wedding vendors were the best.

Place your votes now and remember that you can cast votes daily!
