Have you ever stopped to think about how technology has impacted our modern lives and the lives of our children? Take a moment to realize how much time each day you spend on some form of technology. It doesn't matter if you are texting your friend on your smart phone, changing the channel of your smart TV, doing data entry on your computer at work, using the GPS system in your car, or even working on your tablet preparing for your online test for school--the hours add up to how much time we all spend on some form of technology each day. That is not even including how our children now use SMART Boards instead of chalkboards at school and how long they are on their iPads each day as well.
Author Randi Zuckerberg dives into this subject, as she is launching her first two books that explore how technology has impacted our modern lives while also sharing her own personal and professional experiences. Her adult non-fiction book, Dot Complicated, and her children's book, Dot, a children's picture book encouraging kids to find a balance between on-and off-line play, are scheduled to be released on November 5th, 2013. At the same time, Randi is launching her nationwide book tour visiting ten cities, but as a bonus, she started a campaign for readers to nominate an 11th city, which means we can help to make Phoenix #11! To be eligible, Phoenix must receive at least 200 entries, and if we get all 200, Randi will end her book tour here in Phoenix.
